Liner notes
The Now page on the main site currently says, in full: into — Guitars. This exhibit is that line, made playable.
Somewhere between fascination and practice, a guitar entered the picture, and the museum grew strings in response — cross them with your pointer (or tab to one and press it) and they sound. Standard tuning, low E at the bottom, synthesized the honest way: a plucked-string algorithm, not a recording of someone better at this than me.
Museums say do not touch because the objects are finished. This one isn’t. Play it.
