The story
Eight megabytes. Less storage than a single photo takes now, and it held
everything: the Shaolin Monks co-op run, the Vice City properties, save
files whose names were negotiations between siblings and friends —
FINAL, FINAL2, DONT DELETE.
The PS2 era taught a whole generation its first data-integrity lessons. You did not turn off the console while the card was writing. You watched the little icon spin and you waited, because everyone knew someone who hadn’t. This card is the wing’s monument to that discipline — backup anxiety, version naming, and respect for the write operation, learned years before anyone said the word “engineer” to me.
